Introducing 10 Innovations Debuting On A Mahindra Vehicle
1.Dual wireless charging
The Mahindra XEV 9e offers a tri-screen setup inside its cabin, which includes a digital driver’s display, a central infotainment screen, and a dedicated entertainment screen for the front passenger. While the primary two screens serve standard purposes like driving data and system controls, the passenger’s display is designed for streaming movies, accessing OTT platforms, gaming, and joining virtual meetings. Furthermore, Mahindra has seamlessly integrated functions like climate and audio controls into these digital interfaces.
2.Boost mode
This mode delivers a 10-second burst of maximum power, unleashing the full capability of the powertrain. It proves especially handy for quick acceleration while overtaking vehicles on extended highway stretches.
3.Unlocked by NFC
You can access the vehicle using an NFC-enabled key, which removes the need for a conventional key. Instead, a card-style key allows you to unlock the vehicle effortlessly with a simple tap.
4.Front Camera
The XEV 9e and BE 6e are fitted with an in-cabin camera designed for multiple purposes. While it can capture selfies, its primary role is monitoring the driver’s facial expressions to identify signs of fatigue, prompting rest if necessary. Additionally, the camera supports video conferencing, enabling the driver to participate in virtual meetings, such as those on platforms like Zoom.
5.DRL animation
The front features illuminated LED daytime running lights (DRLs), complemented by LED taillights at the rear. These lighting elements go beyond mere aesthetics, incorporating dynamic animations—a first for Mahindra. These animations are activated upon locking or unlocking the car and can also sync with music playback for an entertaining effect. Additionally, the vehicle offers a unique ‘Groove Me’ feature, which initiates a coordinated light and sound display that aligns with the rhythm of the music, creating an immersive audio-visual experience.
6.Automated Park Assist
Both EVs come with a 360-degree camera system, enhanced by Auto Park Assist—a feature commonly associated with premium vehicles. This system facilitates parking in compact areas and assists with parallel parking by allowing the vehicle to manage the process autonomously. Additionally, drivers can park the car remotely by stepping outside, reposition it to a preferred spot, or activate pre-set parking scenarios when necessary
7.AR Display
The two latest Mahindra electric vehicles include a heads-up display with augmented reality capabilities. This system showcases information such as vehicle speed and navigation directions directly in the driver’s line of sight. The display dynamically adjusts its brightness and position, creating a layered effect that makes the information appear to be on the road ahead, enhancing the driver’s experience.
8.Two spoked steering
The Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e are equipped with a two-spoke steering wheel that showcases an illuminated Mahindra logo. Although this design has been spotted in recent Tata models, it marks its debut in a Mahindra vehicle. The updated steering wheel incorporates toggle switches for controlling functions such as volume and the instrument cluster menu. Additionally, it includes paddle shifters for adjusting battery regeneration and buttons for one-pedal driving and boost mode, which will be explored further in this report.
9.Fixed glass roof
Both the Mahindra XEV 9e and the BE 6e feature a fixed panoramic glass roof accented by light strips. According to Mahindra, these lights can display up to 16 million colors and adjust their hues based on your driving speed. The design of the panoramic glass roof varies between the two models, and it is synchronized with the ambient lighting in the cabin.
10.Triple screen Dashboard
The Mahindra XEV 9e boasts a cabin equipped with a three-screen setup, comprising a digital driver’s display, an infotainment screen, and a third display designed for the front passenger’s entertainment. While the first two screens serve familiar purposes, the third screen offers the front passenger the ability to stream movies, access OTT platforms, play games, and participate in online calls. Moreover, Mahindra has incorporated climate and volume control functionalities into these screens.
